Solid animation, voice-acting, and style. Loveable, Saturday-morning-cartoon feel.
Heh heh. Front page is your destination. Well done.

BRP1Studios responds:

I really wish there was a way to like comments. You = Awesome.

I love the style of your artwork - it seems like your took your time with it but didn't become so involved as to neglect a unique, cartoon feel. That same quality is reflected in the slow, smooth pace of the story and the animation itself.

This is the first animation you've submitted to NG, but it is clearly not the first animation you have ever done. Do you perhaps animate for work, or school or just publish through different venues?

I think this is a solid entry for the contest. Good luck, I hope it does as well as it deserves.

hillrdavid responds:

Thanks for the input. I just finished my first year of a 4 year animation program in college. I've done some tradition animation for school, and a couple of quick and simple Flash projects, but this is the first finished Animation I've done in Flash.

The voice-acting was good and it went well with the overall art style (the tried and true, devil-may-care, "let's -just-animate-this-bitch" style). I think Skyrim is just going to be one of those things that people will always want to see parodies of.
I kept thinking that it was going to end at any second, but this thing just kept on ticking. Definitely impressed.

Best.. Name.. Ever... Eternal respect for you my brother

Woah

This was great - the sound, the voice acting, the animation and the style. It all came together nicely. I don't see why this isn't hasn't accumulated more 5's, it appeals to pretty much everyone on Newgrounds. They know who they are...

This is solid gold. I wish I knew as much about 0 as you did before animating my last horrible bastard flash. Your voice acting is really good - I'm not saying that you have a smooth, alluring voice per se, just that the quality is nice and seems really down-to-earth.
Loved the dad.

CyanSandwich responds:

RicePirate does have a nice voice ;D

Beautiful...

Wow, this was a real trip to say the least. I might go as far as to call it a masterpiece.
I was really enthralled from the beginning and it kept my attention all the way through.
It felt organic as it branched out and flowed from shape to shape, but also scary and mechanized with its angular, interconnected portions. From your comments about it, I imagine that was the intent. Great execution.
The music choice was spot on as well. Haunting and inspiring at the same time.
Well done.

videoJoe responds:

Thanks tremendously, you can see the beauty in a powerfully inspirational piece. It is one of my favorites, with tons of promise, along its style.

C'mon, now...

Louie deserves better than this, guys. People will watch this, because people remember Life with Louie. You need to deliver though, instead of being cruel, Willy Wonka-like monsters.

In springtime,
The only pretty ring time.
Birds sing, hey ding.
A-ding, a-ding.
Sweet lovers love the spring!

Inspired, but...

Linkin Park did most of the work for you. They already suped up this Martin Luther King Jr. speech with some keyboard and electronic effects. All of the atmosphere and feeling in this movie comes from them.

Text, fire with gigantic outlines floating everywhere, and a half-sketched portrait of man really aren't adding much. I like the idea though, and I think it's worth your time to do a crisper version of this when you get a bit more time.

Maccamuffin responds:

Thank you very much for your feedback! I think I will make a more refined version with a bit more visual emotion sooner or later. What I think I will also do what I wanted to do here but wasn't sure how, is to add some static to certain parts, both on the audio track as well as visually. But yes, Linkin Park has brought out most of the emotion out and I plan to add to that in a refined version :)

Not what I expected

Definitely kept my attention the entire time, which can be difficult to do with someone so slowly paced. Good music and great animation. My only gripe is the scream - maybe could've been deeper or just not there at all.
All in all, bad ass.

hebbazz responds:

i will forward this to our soundguy ;) thanks! :D

Remember when I said I'd blam this? ...

...I lied.
This is such a funny concept with so much potential that, sadly, if for some reason Arnold ever decided to do a flick on this premise... I would watch it.
